We celebrated the nation's Independence Day on Thurday, 15 August, 2024 in a grand manner. The celebration began at 7.45 AM with the hoisting of the flag by the Chief Guest Mr K S Phaniraj, the ex Navy officer and an alumnus of our school. Fr Henry Saldanha SJ, the Secretary of Hassan Jesuit Education Society and the Headmaster of the High School was the President of the program. The program was graced by all other members of the Management, staff, students, parents and well wishers. The students of high school sang the prayer song. Anusha of 7th standard gave an inspiring speech on the importance of the day.
Students from the English medium Higher Primary and the PUC put up a dance from their respective units. Kannada medium students put up a beautiful skit and also sang a patriotic song. The Chief Guest, speaking on the occasion said that in military they don't make any distinction among the soldiers based on religion, caste, language or creed and also called upon all to emulate such democratic and secular values. Anam Fatima of 6th standard gave the vote of thanks. The program ended with the distribution of sweets to all students.
